INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL OF WILDLIFE AND THE ENVIRONMENT

REGLEMENT
Article 1 - The International Film Festival of Wildlife and the Environment, FIFALE, is open to all professional and amateur film and television producers and directors.
Article 2 - Objective The objective of the FIFALE is to encourage film production in Morocco with a thematic focus on animals and the environment. The aspiration of the Festival is to present the best film productions in the world to the public. An primary objective is to develop an educational program for schools. Showing these films at schools will increase awareness for the protection of nature, flora and fauna, and to improve the quality and the respect for the environment. The FIFALE supports cultural, scientific, and artistic exchanges between all who are working towards safeguarding the planet.
Article 3 - Conditions of Participation The films presented at the FIFALE should have animal and/or environmental themes. The films should not be more than 3 years old. One dvd high quality copy of the registered film will be provided for pre-selection, and this dvd will be kept by the festival for school projections. The format of films should be in 35 mm, Beta SP, Beta Num, HD, DVCAM, Mini DV, HDV, HD Cam, standard PAL only. The films will be, short film, medium, or full-length film. Each competitor will be able to present one or more films. The award-winning directors are committed to mentioning their prizes in credits or in all supporting structures related to the film(s). The Organizational Committee of the Festival reserves the right to choose from each work a short clip of two to three minutes maximum, and to show this/these on television in order to promote the films presented at the Festival.
Article 4 - Rules of Participation No fee is required for entries After the registration online, candidates for the competition must send their film accompanied with the following documentation:
- The rules bulletin provided by the Organizational Committee of the Festival, officially signed.
- Posters, photographs of the film must be free of all copyrights.
- A copy of the film on DVD format.
This document will be used in the official catalogue of the Festival, for press releases or for promotional purposes by the media.
Article 5 - Terms of Registration Registration Deadline: March, 31st, 2012 Confirm your participation as soon as possible, with your entry form on line To send films, please comply with specific recommendation explained on our website. www.fifale.com.
Article 6 - Fees and Responsibility in Case of Accident Cost of transport, insurance, and customs duties on films will be the responsibility of the Festival participants. The cost of returning the films will be the responsibility of the organizer. The Organizational Committee of the Festival cannot be held responsible for any lost or damaged films during their shipment. The Organizational Committee of the Festival cannot be held responsible for any damage that might be suffered en route to the Festival, during the period when the film is on Festival premises, nor when the film is being shown. It is suggested that each participant provide him/herself with appropriate insurance should any problems arise. The Organizational Committee will return submitted films one month following the Festival to the address specified by each participant. There may be a delay in returning the films to the winners of the competition as they will be shown at the Festival. The delay in returning films will be arranged with each participant. In no case will the organizers use the films for commercial use or other purposes. The Organizational Committee, conforming to established rules for copyrighted material, consider that the works presented at the Festival are free from all rights of artistic ownership. To ensure their participation in the Festival, the authors of the films guarantee against any action that could be exercised against the organizers.
Article 7 - Jury, Projection of Films The Organization will designate the pre-selection committee. This committee will decide which films will be part of the competition. These films will be presented to an international jury that will vote for the winners of the International Film Festival of Wildlife and the Environment. The jury’s decision cannot be changed. The functioning of the jury and the projection of the films will take place according to the place and open criteria established by the jury and the Organization Committee. The Organizational Committee can accept or invite films of interest, outside of the competition and without taking into consideration their production date, as long as the themes concern animal or environmental themes.
Article 8 - Prizes The jury will determine the winners of the following prizes: The Golden, Silver, and Bronze Stork. Other prizes and special mention will also be given, and a special prize for the best Moroccan documentary. The International Jury has the right to give or not one or more official prizes. All competing films will receive a Certificate of Participation.
Article 9 - Application of Rules Placing a film into this competition implies that you accept all conditions contained in the previous pages. The Organizational Committee has the right to introduce new clauses, amending and deleting existing ones. In the case of a conflict involving these regulations, the French text will be used as the legal document.
