The Birth of FIFALE

The idea of setting up a festival dedicated to the protection of the environmental matured gradually in my boxes.

Arriving in Morocco and my settlement in Rabat triggered the implementation of the idea.

I found a country with beautiful landscapes, and especially a city, Rabat, with a green belt, a preserving belt, natural, very symbolic and how precursor, in that time, in a country like Morocco.

The course of my project led me to the person who was able to meet and understand my idea:

Mr. Bennani, President of the Association of Ribat Al Fath, who immediately agreed to make this happen.

The Ministry of Environment was just created and Late His Majesty King Hassan II, bestew His High Patronage to the Festival.

Since its first edition in 1996, from 14 countries and 5 continents, more than 80 films entered in competition.

Thus Morocco, an opened country, hosted the FIFALE, the first festival of its kind on the African continent.
